The Bird Paradise – successor to Jurong Bird Park, officially opened its doors in May 2023, marking a new chapter in avian conservation and visitor experience. With roots dated back to 1971, Jurong Bird Park was first opened by Mr Goh Keng Swee, then Minister for Finance. The Park which originally carried 1000 birds from 60 different species, quickly became a cherished childhood memory for many and gradually solidified its stance as a world-class Bird Park. After 50 years of captivating visitors, the iconic Park closed its gates to make way for Bird Paradise.
The transition saw the relocation of an impressive 3500 birds spanning over 400 species, ensuring their continued care and providing an enhanced habitat for their well-being.
Our staff and their loved ones enjoyed a memorable Saturday, immersed in the thoughtfully constructed Park where visitors can marvel at birds gliding gracefully in expansive habitats, and engage up close with some of these magnificent creatures.
Bird Paradise stands as a fitting tribute to Jurong Bird Park’s legacy while promising new adventures in avian conservation and education for generations to come.
